The most popular way to begin your pottery experience is with a Taster Session. These can be for between one to 10 people and last for 2.5 hours (3 hours for large party groups).
During these sessions, I will take you through all the steps for you to make your own pot on your own potter’s wheel. Your pots will be glazed and fired for collection at a later date. These have been very popular and the day and time can be arranged to suit. Taster sessions can be booked for mornings, afternoons and early evenings on Monday to Wednesday, and mornings on Saturdays.
Please note that owing to insurance reasons, Triangle Pottery is not able to accommodate children under the age of 14.
Triangle Pottery is fully insured for public liability.
Why not organise a special event at Triangle Pottery? You can gather a group of friends and organise a party for a birthday or celebration of any kind, or a work team building session and much more.
In your 3 hour session there will be opportunities to make a pot on the potter’s wheel, create a hand built piece, and decorate and paint a plain blank (bisque) hand thrown pot made by Daniel, creating your own design using ceramic paints (underglazes).
Your best pot is then glazed and fired in the kiln ready for collection at a later date.
If you wish to improve after attending a Taster Session, or you already have some pottery experience, we offer Pay As You Throw sessions for you to come along and practice individually. You can book on an hourly basis (minimum 2 hours) and practice as much as you like. You will have access to all available equipment including a clean apron, towel and all materials and tools. Clay is recycled at the end of the session and you pay nothing extra*.
The cost of using the studio is £15 per hour, with a minimum session of 2 hours. A 15% discount is offered for 4 or more sessions paid and booked in advance.
This option allows you full access to the pottery at the time and day of your choice, with day, evening and weekend availability, subject to other bookings. These sessions are untutored, they are for your own practice. Daniel will be around for any studio-specific queries, and may offer very minimal guidance, but full tuition is not offered for these sessions.
*If you do wish to have your finished work fired, it can be bisque and glaze fired to stoneware temperature. There will be a variety of glazes available for you to use at your sessions. Pieces will be charged at additional cost according to the weight of clay used. Please see the Prices page for details of current prices for this service.
If you would like further tuition, this can be arranged on an individual basis at £30 per hour, to allow you to focus on specific techniques.
Why not give that special person a unique gift? Gift vouchers are available for any number of people according the session prices on our Prices page.
They can be exchanged for a 2.5 hour session.
Gift vouchers are valid for 6 months from date of issue. Vouchers are non-transferable, non-refundable and not redeemable for cash. A voucher may be extended for an additional month, but only once, and must be done while the voucher is still valid. A £25 administration fee is payable if you choose to extend the validity of your voucher. In line with our Cancellation and Transfer Policy (see the section on the Prices page), requests to transfer a voucher booking to an alternative session must be submitted in writing via email no later than 28 days prior to the original session date and are subject to availability. Triangle Pottery is not obliged to ensure suitable alternative dates.
